Most of my career, I worked for smaller companies that can afford to have only one person that does what I do. My bosses have a vague idea of what it is I do, but not a clue as to how I do it.
I am now at the stage where I intimidate some of my bosses. They realize I have about 20 year’s worth of management experience more than they.
They know that all they have to do is tell me what they need done and get out of my way. They also know that I am smart enough to ask for help when I don’t understand something. I’ve been in the workforce so long, that I don’t have an ego to build and protect.
