What’s wrong with first period? When I was in high school, I would have been glad for the ability to take a nap first thing, since I had to get up at 5 AM. High school and getting a proper night’s sleep are incompatible.
I speak french. The school district here offers french and a few other languages such as german and russian but they only teach it at on location about 12 miles from our home. So just like most of the other kids in the area, my grandson is taking spanish.
I loved history…it was one of my two minors in college. English major, German and history minors. I took four languages in school and it turned out to be a great decision….I became a computer programmer, and language is language! Programming languages have a vocabulary, grammar, and syntax just like Latin and German.
My senior year of college, I technically had 21 credits and was surviving on 5 hours of sleep/night. One semester I had Baptist History at 7am, taught by an elderly professor who used a walker and therefore sat motionless at a podium, speaking in a monotone voice about a lot of dates. (He was a nice guy, but maybe should’ve been retired before I got there.) When I wasn’t taking notes, I was doodling furiously in a desperate attempt to stay awake. Or poking my friend next to me in an attempt to keep her conscious.

No, you can’t nap during French. It would be extra obvious you weren’t paying attention when the teacher calls on you.

Math is a real snooze fest, and you can get Jason to do your math homework.

Our history class was ‘taught’ by the baseball coach. It was pretty much like it’s described here, and that was over forty years ago!

I don’t remember having a whole lot of choice in scheduling courses. They must go to a large school?

As a junior in high school, you should know better by now, Peter.

Out high school teachers were sadists. They loved catching kids sleeping in class.
