My aunt was a nun (or as John Prine would say, my dad’s sister was a sister), and with Sunday dinner at her convent in Milwaukee, they served us fresh baked bread. Tasted as good as it smelled.
I’ve baked bread since the start of covid. I’ll never go back! My bread (a no-knead one, at that!) is way better than any bread I could buy at the supermarket. And I always use the nut/seed mixture I order from King Arthur, which elevates this simple bread to artisanal level.
