Acknowledging the injustices perpetrated on the Native American population by Europeans teaches us to hate our white heritage, is anti-American and is WOKE. So do not bring it up at the dinner table.
So let’s all grab our AR-15s and pose for a family portrait by the Christmas Tree. /S
To acknowledge injustices perpetrated on Native Americans, Chinese, Africans by white Europeans is noble and a teaching experience not to repeat history.
@GaryCooper: “One thing history teaches us is that people are horrible, and we’ve always been that way.”
Some are “horrible”, while some are “admirable”. And all too many are malleable, being drawn to follow either of the two extremes. But it seems that the majority float somewhere in between.
The synod is over…Pope Francis says the Church can bless same sex marriages…thatis disturbing since last year he claimed same sex marriages were sinful. How can sin be blessed?
“Instead, the first Thanksgiving was declared in 1637 by Governor (John) Winthrop of the Massachusetts Bay Colony to celebrate the massacre of over 700 Pequot men, women and children on the banks of the Mystic River in Connecticut.” Nov 25, 2021
I am the beneficiary of white privilege and male privilege. I do not apologize for it nor do I defend it. It just is what it was.
I am not God, so I cannot change the past. I do not have political power, so I cannot rewrite history to eliminate those portions that are inconvenient to what I want my followers to believe.
All I can do is change the future by what I do today.
