Ernest says, "You're teaching the history of animated cartoons? What did you teach tonight?" Frank says, "I taught 'I taw a puddy tat.'"
I saw that cartoon three different times in a theater. The first got a laugh at the end of the line, as one would expect. The second laughed well after. The third started laughing at “taught” with some reacting to “fat”, having already figured it out. Unfortunately, I don’t remember what the movies were, but it might make an interesting comparison to the joint intelligence of the audiences.
