Frank: And I fixed the electrical shorts which caused fires in the previous model... Frank: ...this model won't be recalled!
Personally, I’m not seeing the extra comma today. “My latest model of the robot politician” describes Ernie, so it’s not necessary to understand the sentence. Therefore, we set it off with commas.
You could just say “Ernie has some great upgrades”, which would make sense, and that’s why commas go around the phrase above.
