There are critters called “tardigrades”, sometimes known as “water bears”, which have been around for more than 500 million years, and are still going strong.Maybe their winning streak won’t last forever, but they’ve come pretty close so far.
Natural selection seems to have gone out the window with human over population and the resulting pollution…. Steven Hawkins gives us 1,000 years till our extinction, then perhaps things will get back to natural selection….

Natural selection is a winning streak of winning streaks. It’s streak will end only when/if there’s nothing left to select from.
