Ernie: This article is written for those ambitious people living life in the fast lane. It has some quotes about hard work and success. It's believed Vince Lombardi said "The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary". "Success is dependent on effort" is attributed to Sophocles. And there's this from Colin Powell: "There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work and learning from failure". Frank: I tried to live life in the fast lane for a while....but it seems I'm an off-road vehicle.

While hard work improves odds, fact is many who call themselves a “success” inherited money (or loans with extremely favorable terms), not to mention networking connections that had nothing to do with hard work..If hard work guaranteed success, factory workers and, especially, every woman in sub-Saharan Africa would be the richest people on earth.

I heard just today that only Americans believe work and success are related. I have encountered a few “branch plant” Canadians who do too, but not enough from the rest of the world.

And Ben Franklin said “you learn more from failure than you do from success”. So keep failing and keep learning.
