This reminds me of an incident I heard from a friend. Sailing from the Bahamas, they arrived late in some little town in New England that had no customs office. The went ashore and had supper, then sailed to a customs office in a neighboring town the next morning. The customs official’s first question was, “Is this your first point of entry?” When they described their landing the previous evening, the official replied, “Listen closely, I’m going to ask you again, is this your first point of entry?” They didn’t have to lean in to know the answer that he was seeking.
