Loved riding bikes for years. The one electric bike in our small town was powered by a generator that operated off pedal power. Was a curiosity and only the one.
While that certainly can be true, if you’re careful and follow traffic laws etc then it’s no more dangerous than a regular bike. The problem is all the idiots who dart around on ebikes with no regard to either their own safety or the safety of others.

I think all those idiot “Tour de France” wannabe riders are the biggest safety problem. They seem to think they own the bike paths.
