I have always loved this one! It’s very nearly perfect! (Truth to tell, the only wrinkle is that his name is pronounced “BAR-toke”—the “toke” actually rhymes with “poke.” I’ve been to Hungary and studied Hungarian—what a difficult language!—and Bartók really is pronounced with a long O. But that doesn’t stop me from loving this particular strip!!)

I can’t begin to extol the virtues of this strip today. Gloriously cornball.

Next door, they’re discussing Barber at the barber shop. And, down the block, they’re discussing Pachelbel at Taco Bell.

I never got into Bartok, but what would you expect from a Schubert freak?
