Man, I feel for most people. Our insurance company is not for-profit. It’s a mutual benefit society with limited membership (through my former employer). Its “profits” all go into benefits or reducing premiums. They pay almost everything without hassle. Providers love it and so do we.

If it wasn’t for runarounds like this Frank wouldn’t run around at all.

The next Biden press secretary. Or the last two. Oh, wait… he’s a white man. Forget it. Unless he’s trans-something.

Medicare is not much better, there is a long list procedures they will not cover, especially preventive services such as an annual physical (not to be confused with their useless “wellness visit”. They will not cover a 10 year tetanus booster at the doctor’s office but will at CVS under Part D. They will cover a lipid blood test (cholesterol/liver function) only once every 5 years unless your doctor knows how to coded it. The most important skill your doctor can have is knowing how to code/upcode procedures so they are approved-both for Medicare and private insurance.

Nothing suits this situation better than the term numbers game. They invented it.

Ironically, I’m thinking of ending our gym membership to help cover the cost of my $150/month increase in our “contribution” to our health care plan.

I have this memory of a rock song where the chorus was “round, round, run around, I run around”, but I can’t find it on a Google search. Does anyone else remember it?

Reminds me of the Spending Account Card I got form my insurance in joint with Medicare. A list on the webpage says to use it on Vitamins, Minerals and Supplements. Just below the “*” star says it cannot be used for dietary supplements
