Friend had a pup that repeated a similar ritual each day. Similar items in same order, then outdoors, then bowl. Another go in pm. And at same time every night and morning – usually when all asleep – whine to go out again.
That’s my new cats list of things to play with. he’ll paw at something and I’ll go to the scratching posts. I scratch with my fingers and he’ll start on that. Now to get him to go to those only. Sigh! haha
