My wife and I bought a very nice mahogany china cabinet at an Ethan Allen warehouse sale that was 50% off because of a damaged hinge. During the delivery, there was an accident (different story) where one of the straps broke and the unit got damaged. A repair man came the next day to fix the damage, and while he was doing it he noticed the hinge and said, “Oh, a broken hinge”, and proceeded to replace that as well.
My parents got a really expensive, really heavy ’n fancy sofa for like $400 because the was a chip of wood missing on one of the legs. You cannot even really see it, no matter where it is positioned.

Find what you like, then dent it and then only half to pay half price.

No, wait. Scratch that. I don’t want dents.

It might be trade-ins from empty-nesters who finally feel they can buy good stuff.

This strikes me as the kind of furniture store which is perpetually “going out of business”. Every city has one.
