"My dad likes to turn our vacations into learning opportunities." "This year's theme was 'capitalist heroes.'" "We drove out east and looked at these humongous old mansions. I'm, like, whoa!" "Dad said the late 1800s and early 1900s saw a few men build great fortunes." "Some got rich through invention and risk- taking; some through treachery and corruption." "Some made a lot of other people wealthy; some kept a lot of other people poor." "Some made the world a better place; some lived only in their own world." "Then the quiz: Dad asked, "What one trait did all these men have in common?" "I said, well, they're all dead now." "A learning opportunity for you dad, no doubt."
