Miss Plainwell: Mrs. Leo's mother was very old school. Every Christmas, every birthday, she was allowed to keep one present. Her mother whisked the rest away and hid them in the attic for "later." Where they were never missed. Forgotten, in fact, until only last week, when Mrs. Leo helped her mom get the house ready to sell. An interesting lesson. Caulfield: I am so not interested in a lesson in restraint and frugality. Miss Plainwell: How about a lesson in the street value of 45-year-old toys in mint condition? Caulfield: Is this the same Mrs. Leo who just quit teaching and moved to the Keys?
I was sure that I knew what the lesson would be by panel #4.
