Miss Plainwell reading: Please excuse Lea's being late. It was cold this morning and it took a while to pre-heat her t-shirt in the dryer. Miss Plainwell: You're fine. Frazz: It's even in her own handwriting. Miss Plainwell: It seemed wrong to question it when I can't wait to go home and try it myself.

My mom used to do that when we were little, if we weren’t feeling well. She’d warm our blankets in the dryer and wrap us up on the couch.

when my parents remodeled the house all those years ago, they put the washer & dryer in the upstairs bathroom. as kids we would throw our towel in the dryer, hop in the shower & when we got out, voila. . . warm towel.

I’m retired. In the winter I can drag the sweats under the electric blanket for a while. Boost the house heat for shower time.

No wonder energy costs so much…

I always did the opposite – I’d put t-shirts in the refrigerator in the summer time.

Huh. Maybe I’m too hard on my kids. When they complain about being cold I encourage them to pull their sleds out to the wood shed and get another load of firewood. In a few years they will be big enough to swing an axe. Then they will have even better options for staying warm.

I’m so hot natured, I sleep with my windows open in the wintertime, not that it’s felt like winter at all for me this year. I’ll close the windows if it gets into the mid 20’s, just because the cold can’t be too good for the things in my room. Now, when you breathe out and see a puff of your breath, that’s excellent sleeping weather!

Even living in Florida where anything below 70 is considered cold, I still love the feeling of warm clothes fresh from the dryer.

Woah, that kid has my name spelt the way I spell it. I rarely see that.
