Girl: Christmas has gotten so much about stuff. I'm just looking forward to some time off. Frazz: Any plans? Girl: I'd better have a whole lot of new stuff to play with.
I find today’s effort confusing. She first says it has gotten to be “all about getting stuff” but that she just wants time off. Then she states SHE wants lots of stuff. I guess if I stretch my imagination a lot, I can take on the idea that she initially says Christmas has gotten to be “all about getting stuff” and she is not saying it regretfully… but instead positively. Then her end comment about her wanting her share of stuff makes more sense… and the “time off” is for her to play with her “new stuff” I guess. However, her expression in panel one is not one that suggests she is saying “all about getting stuff” in a positive, happy fashion, but has more of a rueful look that looks regretful. So, I guess for me, there is some sort of disconnect. the facial expressions do not fit with the writing and vice-versa, IMO.
