Frazz by Jef Mallett for February 13, 2017
Transcript:
Boy: My underwear is itching me. Girl: I'll be eating my lunch over there. Frazz: What was that? Boy: Me, not in the mood for conversation. Frazz: Effective technique, but high stakes in the event someone does relate. Boy: This is just the kind of conversation I'm hoping to avoid.

♫♪♫The night that Wally (originally Molly but I am using license here) died
They called us to his side,
And he willed us a pair of dirty drawers.
They were ragged, they were split,
Every seam smelled of ….something.
Them old dirty drawers Wally wore.
So we threw ’em in the kitchen sink and the water turned to ink.
Those old dirty drawers Wally wore
So we threw ’em in the garbage can,and they killed the garbage man.
Those old dirty drawers Wally wore

This song is stuck in my head from long ago. There was a record album named ( I think)_ The Unexpurgated Folk Songs of Our Land_ . But, believe it or not, I couldn’t find it by google. I swear, I don’t think I made this up.

My late husband, a screenwriter, had an obnoxious drunk sit down next to him in a bar and say “hey man, what do you do”? Not wanting to have a conversation with this guy, he said “drywall”. The drunk said “Me too! Where ya working?” Husband got up and left the bar.

And… “itching me” is wrong. Common with kids, but wrong.
