Girl: Hey. It occurs to me that George Washington would have celebrated a birthday...when things were seriously in the dumper at Valley Forge. Frazz: Not exactly the orange ball put at Good E. Gopher's. Girl: "Happy birthday, general! We're not breathing typhus on you today."
People who think that George Washington gets a lot of undue credit just because he happened to be first in line should really take a serious look at his accomplishments. It’s not for nothing that historians regularly rank him among the greats, even tho most average people just say “yeah, yeah, father of his country, yada yada, ho hum”. He fully deserves that featured spot that Gutzon Borglum gave him.
