Indeed, I made sure not to let them choose for me since it would simply conform to what I had already read. No thanks for them "helping"me.

I don’t mind them making recommendations; I just wish they were better at it.

e.g. just because I watch one Adam Sandler movie doesn’t mean I’m an Adam Sandler fan.

I kind of like it how when I look up an out of print book on amazon whithin hours I get an e-mail with a list of other out of print books for the same topic. It’s so useless.

How about going to the library, or book store? If you don’t want to be profiled because of your web choices, then limit your internet use. Not that hard.

Works that way for almost every item a person could want. Buy the tool, appliance, software, clothing, medicine, whatever, and get more of the same. I agree – useless

“Social media STEER” not steerS. C’mon everybody. The word MEDIA is plural, just like DATA, AGENDA, etc. Just because the Jerk-in-chief keeps saying things like “the media is lying” doesn’t make it correct.

HARRYBRAU: One word for you: Industry. Some words represent the concept rather than an instance. Quit whining.

If I search for “Banned Books” will I get recommendations for other books I might like to ban?

It’s nice to see Caulfield being genuinely thoughtful, not just snarky or disruptive. For once, he actually is the smartest guy in the room.
