No, the worst thing about being the youngest is the knowledge of how easily you could be displaced by somebody even younger and cuter.

It does when you’ve got zombie kids who do nothing but stare at their phones.

Young person, if you want a good look at your future, pick out the one older relative you most resemble and remember what you see, for one day you will look in the mirror and see that person again.

While a teacher for 25 years, some of my kids used to joke with me about being an old guy and edging into comments on my slightly distorted hour-glass figure. I informed them to try the above experiment and see if what I said did not come true many years after. Some of them looked thoughtful, but others just laughed it off. After all, what could a 50 years old teacher know about real life and immortality?

But, I also told them, that when they looked into the mirror and saw that the future had arrived, they would see a faint outline of my face over their shoulders and I would be laughing out loud.

That was over 50 years ago, and, except for actually seeing what they look like, I can believe I have had the last laugh. tempus vincit omnia

Even if we didn’t have a due date for life span, our brain will shrink even as our nose and ears continue to grow. Being immortal say and have regeneration of limbs and organs one just will have to work on the emotions of losing those who would die around you. We aren’t ready for that yet. Too many people and not enough resources. We are barely getting by now. I suspect that if they do find ways of life extension only the super rich will have it.

The clothes don’t last! I’ve got jeans from the 1990s and 2010s, not in between.

Everything is throw away today…clothes are made to be worn until they need washing…then it’s time to throw them away.
