“Honey, where did you put the (placeholder)?” … “It’s in the garage” … “But where in the garage?” “Near the (other placeholder)”.
This can go on indefinitely or until I run out of patience. She never seems to understand she’s causing grief. Of course, if I’m on the other side of the dialog and answer something like “on the West wall, about halfway between the freezer and the door” she gets confused because for her, none of the garage walls are on the West (yeah, yeah, it’s 18º South of West. Sigh)
Spouse is very good at this conversation.
