I never met pizza until I was at University. Sure was good… but not as much better than lasagna as black bottom pie is better than ordinary chocolate pie (Copper Kettle restaurant if I remember correctly).
I had 3 kids, my wife and my Mom in our house. If I needed the mood changed I’d, tell just one of them, pssst, it’s pizza day. In several minutes everyone’s mood changed. Great Dad hack.
The absolute best example of food that tastes better than it looks is, for my my money, turkey hash made from Thanksgiving leftovers. You take some of the stuffing, some of the turkey (shredded), some of the gravy, slop it all in a big frying pan, and cook until heated through. It looks like someone has already eaten it and thrown it back up, but it tastes incredible.
Have never met a pizza I didn’t like. A small few that could have tasted better. Will admit to preferring a well baked thin crust pizza most of the time. Basically because of the efficiency, having a stiff crust lets me eat with one hand while doing whatever with the other e.g. answering phone, changing channels etc.
I like the spelling “mootzarelli’s!” Most Italian Americans have their roots in southern Italy, and the name of the cheese in the local dialect is “moozarell’” or “muzzarell’”.

It’s funny or really weird, but I can’t stand cheese, not one bit, never have and never will, but I can eat a good combo pizza all day.

Never had Pho. I have this thing about not eating food whose name sounds like you are spitting it out.

Why pho when you can ramen, though?

One of the local restaurants slipped one by the business license people. Their name is Pho King.

I visited Vietnam in 2016, but I don’t think I ever had pho.

In the case of pho, it looks better than it is. It’s nothing more than glorified soup. I require more substantial real entrees.

I’ve never had a dish at a Pho restaurant that I liked. But perhaps i need to find a better one.
