I know a guy who was a free climber, sometimes solo. He actually married into the family. But even his wife couldn’t stand that MUCH crazy, and she cast him from our family… albeit with some qualms, I believe.
He’s on meds now, and also no longer climbs at all, much less free and solo. Of course he’s also 25 or so years older. And though the meds moderate it, he’s still at the very least … odd.
