Eerie, true story: In the grocery store early one fall evening, after dark had fallen, I happened to look up and encountered full-on the scariest eyes I’ve ever seen, in a tall, big man with a mop of dark hair, looking straight into mine as if he knew me. Scared the willies out of me. I looked away, finished my shopping, loaded my bags in the cart and headed out the door. There, straight in front of me about fifty feet away was the guy, just standing in an empty parking space not far from where I was parked with his hands in his pockets, staring at the door. I pretended I had forgotten something and went back in the store, away from the windows. I waited a few minutes, and when I went back he was gone. I quickly loaded my bags, locked the door and got out of there. Absolutely creepy. And yes, I ALWAYS listen to my little “uh-oh” voice.
