@ghostkeeper … sure … it would be “better” with Democrat party policy – with welfare, they wouldn’t need family, just depend on the government. Unbelievable how many in this country look to Washington to either fix our lack of common sense, foresight and planning, or to just pay our way for us.

mohoelx ….WHAT?….. Look around. This couple were not living on welfare they could not survive on their retirement income with what the Republicans have done to banking regulations etc. The bottom line is not common sense or foresight. It’s deciding to put us in a war that took all our combined tax money. Then because Bush did not put it into the budget it left us in a hole we can not dig out of. On top of that Bush gave the richest the biggest tax break when it was not in the budget to do. I find it very hard to read a note like yours when I know you are not well versed in what really is the problem. But I do laugh. Because your comment on “just depend on the government.” I don’t for one minute think that people who worked their whole lives and had money in a 401K for their retirement are to blame for the economy tanking after everything Reagan did for Credit card interest rates having no limit and Bush did with starting 3 wars with no way to pay for it. Add onto that the tanking of the Real estate market and retired people have no way to live in their means. Most of the over 65 people I know would never take from the government. They will live within their means. Not so for the Republicans who spent us into this mess. And I’m talking about you because you voted for them I’m sure.
