Ah, Dr Dyer, the PBS official pledge drive motivational speaker. I don’t know who I like to watch more late at night, him or Ron Popiel selling his incredible cooking knife sets. But wait there’s more!
@rotifer Funny guy. I went and bought a few of these for my collection.
When I was a kid, I had this thing for Grandmother Stover’s miniatures - 50¢ a pack at the gift shop in the 1950’s. Oh, how I wish I had kept them in good shape, and in the original packages. Still, I managed to hang on to quite a few.
Re: Advice to the lovelorn, my grandfather wrote in his autobiography (speaking of his wife’s family): “I have never met a family less interested in gossip, and never knew one whose members so respected each other’s right to privacy and freedom from prying. How wonderful it is to have a wife whom you never have to chide for speaking indiscreetly, or out of turn!” They married in 1912, but this was probably penned around 1960.
Geography is more than placing the names on a map.
Maps are one tool to explain the world, but hey, just knowing where all this unrest is, is a good start.

No words, no suffering. For humans, there is no end of words…nor should there be.

If you’re bored, you’re boring. Embrace your inner bore or get off your heinie. No one needs to hear about it.
