I got the same vibe from Bert Kaempfert.

This picture resembles the preserved body of Vladimir Lenin in repose. It irritates Vladimir Putin that Lenin is glorified with a special tomb in Red Square. It is said that he blames Lenin for many of the divisions that plague Russia to this day.

Putin strives to abate the nuisance of Lenin’s legacy. If he could, he would make himself a Czar. He has to some extent mended relations with the Russian Orthodox Church. Church leaders have exhumed the executed Imperial family of Czar Alexander, and buried them as honorary saints.

It seems that Putin wants to restore the Imperial Russian Empire, with him as the head. Maybe this is why he wants regain the area of Ukraine, as a major step in achieving that goal. Then, upon his own death, he can occupy the special tomb where Lenin now reposes.
