My sister and brother-in-law had a Golden Retriever named “Rocky” they would take him to the nursing home where our mother was staying he managed to brighten up a lot of people’s day and he loved the attention as well.
I always thank the pups and their keepers for letting me have some pup therapy on my walks. I buy lottery tickets in hopes for just enough to live on in my own home and be allowed to have my own therapy pup.
Ages ago I rented a room in a home with a couple I knew from Church. Their dog Buddy often came to sit at my feet and lean on me when I was sitting in the tv room. He would bark at anyone at the door he didn’t know but there was always affection for them after.
When the couple went out they would say, watch the house. If I was staying home they told him, watch Tammy!
One day an abusive ex who had used my friend as an excuse to intrude on my peace, my friend was his "Freedom Session’ sponsor, waited for the couple to leave and knocked on the door asking for the husband. This was the one and only time I had ever seen Buddy bare his teeth at anyone! I never felt more validated, safe
I am staff these days not a student. Big campus. Therapy dogs/animals are around during finals time for the students. When I would bump into one walking on campus it made my day too. Nothing like giving some scritches to a fur baby to make the day happy.
I now call kids “Skin puppies" which would be a good name for the comic “Family Circus.” I often ask the parents “what kind of kid is that?” and “Did you get it from a breeder or an orphanage?”
I see a lot of therapy dogs, since I have one, and every one of them is different. They all seem to have a special skill or trick. Some are slightly shy, some are excited, some are being very obedient. We have one that is about 5 pounds and a few well over 100 lbs. All are great therapy dogs and take much love, empathy and attention to many people who are in a hospital either working, visiting, or there for treatment. Happy Therapy Animal Day to our dogs (and puppy) in this comic!

Floof “What did she do to my brother?” Puppies win, hands down.

THey installed AEDs in lockers in the college before finals. It was either a comment on the tests or the age of the instructors.

Our Black Lab, Pax, loved on everyone that came home with me to have Mom type up their term papers and have a home cooked meal. Mom loved it.

An exhausted but happy puppy. Playing with him will have brought joy to many students tense for the exams.
