Poor Kate. After an adrenaline surge like that she’s going to have trouble getting to sleep.

My folks were very protective and wouldn’t let me watch monster movies or read books about anything sad! So I was totally unaware of monsters in my bed! But aliens from outer space were another matter, lol!

LaVa has a point. Turn out the light, Kate.

I had a protective monster under my bed. He? It made sure I was safe.

A good roommate for Kate.

Excuse me. Need to make a quick trip to the bathroom. :)

Great! Now they can Cower Together!

I don’t remember that particular film. But I used to watch it as a kid in reruns on TV so the gag sounded familiar.

We weren’t allowed on bunk beds. The person on the bottom would kick the upper bunk mattress all night, and the person on the top would pelt the person on the bottom with hard solid objects. Part of the Family Motto: Not happy until miserable.

Unfortunately, I have nothing to contribute to this fear-of-monsters chat. As a child, I never indulged in such morbid fantasies – I wonder why – any ideas?

As a young child I was not afraid of monsters, of the dark yes, but not monsters. Then I outgrew it and spent my childhood finding the notion of monsters and ghosts silly. Then at 20, while assisting a cub scout pack camping in an abandoned country state, late at night I went out of what used to be the kitchen were the adults were sleeping and saw a silhouette of a woman come out of nowhere and started moving back and fro. The next day I asked the caretaker and he told me “strange” things happened in that house.

I was looking at very early Ozy and Millies tonight, and on May 4, 1998, Millies was afraid of finding Senator Helms in her closet or under her bed.
