I like to think Odie is autistic.

Same drooling grin most of the time? Check.

Speaks only in noises? Check.

Brain-dead part of the time and quite competent other times, and even other times seems to be just as smart as Garfield, if not more? Check.

Doesn’t care about girlfriends for the most part? Check.

Is often spaced out when being spoken to, causing Garfield to insult him behind his back? Check check check.

He could also have ADHD as well, because he likes bouncing around and stuff.

I wish Odie would do that to Garfield.

In the first panel Garfield has the same expression that Tom has at the beginning of Cat Concerto. Not sure why I noticed that, but there you go.
