That’s what soup kitchens are for.

While I’m not a big fan of Rufus and Joel and certainly hope that we are not about to see a long story centered on Chef Meowrice, I see, at least in today’s strip, an unfortunately contemporary story of a poor and lonely man who, while going hungry himself, struggles to feed his feline family. It is somewhat reminscent of the old silent film of the man who cuts a bean in half whiile rubbing his tummy.

My cat was always willing to share. He’s come lay the results of the hunt at my feet and sit back to let me dig in…

Let’s hear it for the GoComics colorists. The “bright gray can” is colored pink.

Feed a cat, he is fed for one day. Teach him to hunt and he will be fed for life (and you can afford to eat, Rufus). Think about it, who feeds the cats if your starve to death?

I wonder if Jim is going to explore that cat parasite that affects human behavior (and maybe explains Rufus’s intellectual abilities): http://tinyurl.com/7she6dl
