To repeat what I said yesterday, Walt would have been in the second grade around the year 1900. Garage was picked up by horse darwn wagons at the time.

Sent to the principal for wanting to pick up trash? That’s ridiculous!

That teacher needed to be the victim of a month long garbage strike then she would she might finally wake up and smell the stink of uncollected garbage especially if a strike happened in August.

Working on a garbage truck is a profession as well, not a glamorous one but work!

Garbage collectors earn higher wages than schoolteachers.

Someone should have told Uncle Walt’s teacher that!!

Now this comic strip has me wondering if there was trash pickup when there were almost no cars or paved roads, and how that worked.

Walt was in second grade in 1906. There were worse career options at the time.

me and Walt got a lot in common. though not quite as old, I “earned” several “free” passes to the principal’s office.

Ah,for the good old days when you chased the garbage truck halfway up the block in your bathrobe yelling“WAIT! WAIT!!”.

What has happened to Walt’s teeth? They’re ginormous!
