That reminds me of the tree we had when I was little. It was a sort of broomstick affair with the branches attached to the trunk with winding tape. When you turned it upside down all of the branches lay flat against the trunk. Flip it over and the branches fell out to make a tree. My dad stored it in a long cardboard tube. They were married in late 1941 – just before Pearl Harbor – so maybe it was a wartime thing? Did anybody else out there ever hear of such a thing?
