I like the combination of birds with blue-collar workplaces as a way to generate insults.

“Oh yeah? Well you’re a yellow-throated warbler on a loading dock!”

I knew about the miners using canaries in the mines as ‘early detection systems’ for dangerous gasses (my grandpa was a coal miner in PA way back when), but didn’t know what he meant by saying that.

    canary in a coal mine

    1. A warning of danger or trouble yet to come.

Well, I guess that makes sense then.

“Monkey in a sock drawer” – I would watch that. But it’s got to be smella-vision. Remember the John Waters movie? Title escapes me now…

“A monkey in a sock drawer” = a “sock monkey.” Well, those things are pretty scary looking. To me, at least.

Ostrich in a cat littler factory would make more sense, but then again it’s Bucky, making sense to Rob isn’t really his special talent.
