Bucky: Before I undertake my journey, I require you to make me a warrior's headband. Satchel: 'Kay. Bucky: It must emblazoned with the symbol of anarchy and- Satchel: What's that? Bucky: The letter "a" with a circle around it. Satchel: Ohhh, right, right. Bucky: And it must have anarchy written all over it in big, red letters. Satchel: Hold on, let me get my to-do pad, I don't want to mess up your anarchy!

Where I live there is actually an Anarchist Party. They organise rallies and demos and all, and the irony of that is entirely lost on them. He’s right about the symbol, btw. (They have an official symbol—see what I mean about irony?)

Hmmm. Conservatives donate about 15% of their income to charity. Liberals donate about 3%. Which group is more compassionate?

Figures I saw were more like one percent for CONservatives(ie, confederates)…

You all think your petulant and peurile little “smackdowns” of other AMERICANS based solely on their principles grants you all some kind of special status?
Morons, both parties are having their way with you, maybe you’re all just too damned stupid to realize it since many of you keep regurgitating idiotic talking points.
Ignorance can be cured, stupid is forever. Both political parties are whores, selling out to whoever has the biggest checkbook.
Giving your loyalty to a political party is what has gotten us into the mess. Everyone thinks they’re OWED something just because they live in the USA and can fog a mirror.
More EBT, “free” cell phones, section 8, etc., etc., Whole generations of Americans have been enslaved to welfare, no incentive to work because there is no reason to. Bread and circuses.
Take a look at Rome, just before it collapsed. What were they doing? Free bread and coliseum games. Hmmm, EBT and American Idol. Coincidence?
Here’s a concept, quit your damned complaining and go get a job [they’re out there]. Work hard, earn your way through life, go to bed each knowing you’re contributing and that you’re not a leech on society.
How’s that?

The government of Bucky’s mind is anarchy.

Will his headband keep his ears up? Or push them farther down? THAT is the question. You may now resume your political discussions ELSEWHERE, if you please – like maybe at a neighbourhood BBQ, FB, water cooler, …

Well, you can start with The Politics of Giving at the Chronicle of Philanthropy.

I love how something so innocent can engender a political debate. Since most entrepeneurs are Republicans, and take 100% of the financial risk of starting a business, I would hope there was some reward for the 2% that are successful at it. Gives me something to strive for, and in striving I will have to hire some new employees, and purchase equipment …………… hmmmmmm

I always wondered why the symbol for anarchy is always made the same way.
And as for that charity-giving percentage, it’s total fabrication. Karl Rove made that up long ago on a Fox political talking (shouting) head show. Fact checkers scoured every source they could think of to support the claim, found the opposite to be true. Dems give to charities nine times as much and donate their time helping out more than twenty times as much as republicans. But you know republicans, after one of them lies like this all the rest have to repeat is as gospel truth or they get attacked by their own kind.

Really folks! ITS A COMIC STRIP!!!

This is correct in the sense that a political anarchist party would not be running for office or have any designated leadership. However, to say that order and anarchy do not go hand in hand couldn’t be further than the truth. In fact, the A in the O stands for “anarchy is order.” It’s an equal and workers rights movement that requires and has a good bit of organisation. One could argue that the IWW (industrial workers of the world) is even somewhat of an “anarchist party” if you use the term loosely, considering they are striving for worker control of industry through a somewhat syndicalist agenda.

Usually the humor of this strip continues and grows in the comments that follow… which is why I read them. But some days I wish I still got the newspaper delivered and didn’t have to look on here at all. This is one of those days.

Or a “Sensible Democratic Party.”
Secprof about 12 years ago
Yeah, and most of that 15% goes to organized religion — it’s quite a stretch to call that “charitable giving”.
