Hmmmm. I wonder what my personal anthem is!

Try Land of Hope and Glory, or Jerusalem.

What probably threw Bucky was that “God Save the Queen” is the same tune as “My Country, ’Tis of Thee”.

(It just occurred to me what rants he could derive from the word “’Tis”.)

Like everything else, from the beginning, rip it off and claim it. Ask any native American.

Not “England’s” national anthem, but the national anthem of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

This arc is one of the rare moments where Bucky is actually calm (compared to usual). Shame it doesn’t last.

It’s her entrance music, professional wrestling style.

(“Bah gawd, that’s Elizabeth Regina with a steel chair!”)

For once, Bucky’s right and Rob’s wrong. England doesn’t have an anthem.

“God Save the Queen” is the anthem of The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (of which England is one constituent part). It’s true that it’s often played as the English anthem at sporting events – but then again so is “Jerusalem”. As for Rob’s favourite sport, rugby – the English crowd, at least, tends to go with “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot” (mostly for reasons I won’t go into in the comments to a family strip).

Careful Buck. Queenie has long distance smiting capabilities.

So, did we steal the music from “God Save the Queen” and change the lyrics to “My Country ’Tis of Thee” just to mess with them?

So, what do they play when there’s a king?

Does Her Maj sing “God save my Gracious self” and “Long live my Noble self”?

If Bucky stands sideways to a good breeze is there a loud whistling sound?

Although when they used to play it for the Queen Mother it was the Granthem.I’ll show myself out.

I’m sure Bucky would like the (not often played) second verse; O Lord our God arise,Scatter our enemies,And make them fall!Confound their politics,Frustrate their knavish tricks,On Thee our hopes we fix,God save us all!

There is another verse that has “Rebellious Scots to crush” too.

Recommending highly a new comic “Bozo”!

He’s not entirely wrong.

God Save The Queen by the Sex Pistols would work just as well. At least the tune itself is rousing and upbeat.
