we went thru the whole story line without once seeing the word “gay”. Here I thought Gil was going to break some new ground. At least he cracked it a little.
Oh, how chiastic…we met Lini talking about whether Glee would be on, and now we end with him worrying about Project Runway. The kid loves him some television.
This drama goes on to give the artist more chances to recycle old panels with new dialogue. Makes me long for the real “creator” of this strip, not these people who claim they
created it 45 years after the fact.
People complain about Gil’s teams not winning anything lately. I’d like to see them win. If you were the writer how would you decide how well the teams would do. You could write them to be champions year after year , but what fun would that be/
Let’s have a story line where the AD tells Gil that he either brings home some trophies or he’s out the door. He’s become the Joe Paterno of high school, the game has passed him by.
P-3 Lini forgot to take the shirt carboard out of his shirt. I can’t wait for Milford baseball. Maybe Lini will be the Milford baseball uniform designer. (bowties for everyone) ;-)
Many of us have followed this strip for decades and we live vicariously through the the lessons Gil has delivered over the years.. Personally speaking, the Gilman’s mentoring of Milford’s youth has been steadily diminishing. I always felt strongly about the stories Jack Berrill wrote and the lessons Gil delivered. The championships, trophies and scholarships were icing on the cake.
I also get a kick out of most everyone’s comments.

Total cop out.
Meanwhile Molly Kinsella and the entire girls’ season seems to have been abandoned like the Thorp kids - dont ask dont tell I guess.

I’m still mystified by Kaycee’s growth spurt. Can you say BALCO?

This storyline is unmemorable for Thorp followers. Toss it in the trash and move forward.

Can’t understand why some of you guys keep wanting the same old lame stuff from the past. This was a cool story, something for 2011, not 1961.

I thought the story was very daring considering most of the comments showed the majority of readers of this strip are homophobes.
