I teach in Texas. State exams are given at different levels every year (the final year being in the 9th grade). Once the current exam is finished, it is greatly altered so students don’t get the same exam next year. The previous exams are then placed on the official test website, where they can be downloaded and used to “prep” students for the new exam. I used to work in a very small school district where the superintendent personally took over the science classes weeks before using previous exam questions to get students ready for the exam. I realize the story arc is working with the AP exams, but… ironic, eh?
