So that’s how Kaz eventually got hired. He showed up looking like a “young” Gil and Gil just couldn’t resist. And speaking of resisting, you can’t resist reading today’s Mopped Up Thorp.

P 4 (Gil): “…how many times did you fail at moppin’ floors, swabbin’ toilets, fillin’ kotex dispensers, and throwin’ out cafeteria garbage before you succeeded?…”

When I was in high school, the coach’s office had windows into the locker room and the showers. When you are herding cats you need all the visibilty you can get. Oh yeah, and gay had not been invented yet.

Dr. Archibald “Moonlight” Graham makes a cameo. You’d better be running along now. Alicia make think you have a girlfriend.

What is this, Forrest Gump unloading his life story on someone who once threw darts(and perhaps is still throwing them) at a poster of Gump????

Pop pointed out to Gil that all the boys with any football talent had cars in the school parking lot and after-school jobs to pay for said cars, which was the main way they got attention from girls. Gil convinced them that they could win that attention from playing football—and let these deadbeats join the team mid-season—and the rest is history!

Pop didn’t age from P2 to his portrait, which one would assume was painted late in his career.
