Forgive me, I am but a simple man and I need some help. November 28 began Chapter 4 “The Misdirect”. (Announced at the end of Nov. 27.) Now that Chapter 5 is beginning, I (painfully) flipped through all the strips between then and now and I was wondering if someone could answer some questions:
1. What was the misdirect? “THE” is a definite article, so what activity, event, etc constitutes “the” misdirect? Or did the writer [cough, cough] mean “the misdirect” as a concept that connects the numerous [eye roll] plot lines together? If the latter, then again, what activities, events, etc constitutes those misdirects?
2. In light of Question 1, why was “The Misdirect” even the title of the chapter anyway if the reason for the title isn’t obvious?
3. Why does this comic strip even have chapters in the first place? There are natural breaks in the narrative flow, commonly called “high school sports seasons”. Why are these artificial chapters even being used?
4. Since July 2022, can anyone tell me how the Milford sports teams actually finished when the season was over? Since this is one of the points of the strip, (Henry, are you paying attention? Suggestion: Read that last part over and over until it sinks in.) it would be nice to know how the teams did. Or do I need to just assume they finished second in the Valley?
