I had a friend that played cricket. The bat is too narrow and short to be very useful as a paddle, and it seemed to me like the balance was off if you were going to hit a moving ball. But I’ll bet you could really kill crickets with one.
The one and only thing you can’t really replace in cricket is the bat. That’s the one thing that makes it so unique. - As far as the other peices of equipment, you can use a bin as a wicket (or “the stumps”), anything for a ball, and everything else is optional.
