I think your wrong about that one! You should explain to the kid afterwards what being polite is all about in certain situations. As for punishment if it’s the first time no. But it does serve a purpose with children they need boundaries.I’ve seen way too many of these brats who are a product of free-range parenting;nasty manners & bad behavior.

I had a Great Aunt Pearl. She would pinch your cheek when she saw you. I was very grateful she lived on the opposite end of the country.
