Only time our dogs barked (Shep/collie mix; 2 Labs, 1 Vizsla and 1 Rhodesian Ridgeback was when they needed to go out or there was someone at the door. None of ours barked for “no reason” other than when we played and that was a “fun bark” or play more bark LOL
