Two steps actually:
1. Make breakfast for themselves.
2. leave the mess for Grandma.
poor Grannie…….she’s in comic strip hell….she never ages and neither do the kids…condemned for eternity with the little darlins
When my son was a toddler until he was 3 or 4 I would wake up about 5-5:30am on Saturdays to have some time to myself to watch a movie or read a book. It was a nice, quiet time for me until such time as His Majesty awoke demanding breakfast.
