When QVC first debuted, my (first) husband and I went crazy with this great, new technology for shopping. (Can you say “Diamonique”?) We got ourselves into some debt buying stupid stuff. Easy to do, as their sales pitches were convincing and the new technology mesmerizing. Fast forward to today: New husband. New addiction: Amazon. The difference? Without a sales pitch, we only order what we need, rather than wasting time looking for it in retail stores. How easy. And cheaper than finding it in a brick and mortar. We rarely have to return anything and find exactly what we need. We don’t overspend or buy impulse things. And as we are getting older, it’s quite a convenience. Still need to buy clothing in “real” stores, though.
