My outlaws had an apple tree in their back yard, & their last Dachshund LOVED to play fetch with windfall apples. She’d bring you a shriveled-up, worm-eaten “ball” & INSIST that you throw it. After a couple of fetches, it was slimy with doggie slobber… 8-P
