I just caught a plothole. In the strip before this, the setup of the problem was that Heart had to hand it to Kat who then had to hand it to Carmen because of how far Dean was, but here Dean looks like he’s handing it directly to Kat, so Kat could’ve just handed the note directly to Dean instead of to Carmen and completely averted the conflict that this arc is about.
