When I was growing up, movie tickets were $5, and a VHS copy of a movie ran $29.99 for new releases. Now the movie tickets are $15 for the 3-D version, and the DVD is discounted to $11.95 on Amazon.

$11.00 for a kid? That must not just be 3D, but 3D IMAX with massage chairs.

I buy the occasional DVD, and my NetFlix dancecard is a mile long (mostly old movies and TV shows), but until I can manage to get a 30-foot screen into my apartment there are still some movies I want to see in a theater.

I don’t even rent movies – I get them from the library. Yeah, I may have to wait a couple of weeks before it’s my turn, but I get it free for a whole week. If I return it late, it’s a whopping dime a day.

The other guy should be dressed like Gandalf. You shall not pass. Without paying the $11 first.

You spent all your money on that outfit, didn’t you?
